This NightA Poem by Nwang
These are the stars
Under which we promised eternity, A similar night shaded dark and blue As you held me and I held you. My heart would melt At the sound of your voice And my hand would tremble At the soft touch of your skin. As I looked into your eyes Deeper than the sea I would drown,I would drown Ever so happily. The fireflies illuminate the darkness Like your body at night, The night wind howls As if whispering your name. Now you are gone Like the stars at dawn In the arms of another, In the arms of another. Your curls now hide another face The fingers that touch you are not mine And your lips which had once touched mine Now kiss another. The night is dark And at the stars I am staring Knowing and feeling your memories Of a night like this. Like the night has forgotten day I will forget you Along with all your memories I will bury my suffering too As I write the beginning and the end This maybe our finale. And next time on a night like this You will only be a verse in this poetry.
