Words Given

Words Given

A Chapter by Nusquam Esse

I gave my word
Yet silence quenched not
this festering ember held near
chains of ardorous thoughts
As Prometheus ever-bound
they knaw my singed viscera
Each memory an unrequited
binding bequest to
consuming wings
Unspoken they cannot die
yet I gave my every word
Torn asunder by this phoenix
of pride, remembrance, and love
Only immutable torment
awaits the fool who
gives their every word

"Ne te tantus edit tacitam dolor"
