Stygian Blue

Stygian Blue

A Chapter by Nusquam Esse

Upon horizons awash
myriad orchid of violets
and violent ochre clash
Yet in between
Ne'er a shade of green

My fatigued gaze faltered
Like those crepuscular gods
Obscured in a penumbral
Mantle // at the cusp
Of ephemeral twilights

Shadows guide a path
Transcribe each vestigial step
To this, my nadir bourne grave
A bleached skull adorned
with asphodel bloom

Within that grimace
Of lugubrious eyes
Perpetually transfixed?
A panoptic rippling
Of deep Stygian Blue
