I had a dream
a wandering
unscripted
path broken
neath an expanse
of unrealized dreams

Trailing
traveling
cracks between us
pouring everything
into the void
of lugubrious lips

shrouded in
a haunt of
remembrance
a drifting
divide to define
these dreams

Until all I had filled
was all I had
and all I was
was a festering
nadir of ne'er
would-bes

An ambivalent lattice
of languished
lachrymose
pantomime
pressed to my
pensive soul
like wildflowers
to this solitary
dog-eared page

I cannot
turn away
from you

Unrealized
is the tome
this dream
which bears
no farewell
except regret
ne'er sated
pining
an abrupt
intangible
