Author's Note

Translation is not exact, the last line (mushi no iki) means "An Insect's Breath" which is used as an expression for a fading, dying breath.

Wow, an insect's breath...wonderful expression. And really loved this senryu.

Yeah, I love the saying as well... the whole idea of a person's final breath being little more than the gasp of an insect. I did some word play, since the first symbol for 'Doukyo' has the symbol of insect inside it; I thought it made an interesting concept.

so glad to have met you Esse :) these kinds of things expand my life in all directions ... such a personal introspection .. the literal interp of the last line is wonderful .. inspires more .. i guess that this senryu was a process ... i think you must be exhausted after its expression ..
