Dear Society

Dear Society

A Poem by Nupur Joshi

DEAR SOCIETY

Don' judge her for the clothes she wears.
Or the makeup she applies.
Don't tell her to apply some cream on her face to be fair.
Don't teach her to hold back her cries.

She is a human after all.
She has had her success and her fall.
She has faced a million storms.
She was stopped from following her dreams 'cause it was against the norms.

She has the right to her own life.
She doesn't have to be someone's wife.
Society, she doesn't need your free advice.
So please on her don't put any price.

Patriarchy, now she has become unstoppable.
You no more have the rights to make her feel dull.
The more you try to cage her the more she'll resist,
Because the chance to put her down now u have missed
