Lockdown 2020

Lockdown 2020

A Poem by Nupur Joshi

Lockdown 2020

Stuck in those same four walls.
Suddenly your long forgotten best friend calls
Leaving your house has become a sin.
Stuck at home how long has it been?

The air is filled with confusion.
Freedom seems to be an illusion.
Thousands of people dying everyday
I think the virus is here to stay.

Doctors and nurses working sixteen hours a day
Companies running out of money to pay
People not having food to eat
The whole world is becoming an empty street.

2020 has been a year of despair
Happiness has become very rare
But like a phoenix we will rise from the ashes
And these months would have been nothing but a few flashes.
