Teenage TurmoilA Poem by Nupur JoshiThis is a poem I wrote about the storm of emotions we feel during our teenage years.Teenage Turmoil His hands intertwined with hers As she looked at them, eyes brimming with tears. "I must be cursed" she thought. Felt that something was wrong with her because she was always unsought. Channeled her self-hatred by hating her friends, because they were so perfect. While she was nothing more than a reject Did quite well in school, was so anxious, nevertheless. Felt like a piece of crap, completely worthless. Here she was stuck in the turmoil called the teenage years. Where everyone seems to see right through your biggest fears "She" resides in you and me and every other teenager out there. Hiding our insecurities, behind the masks we always wear "I'm fine" while fighting what seem to be the biggest storms. We hope and pray that the way we look will soon transform. To fight our inner demons, every day we toil And this is just the beginning of the teenage turmoil.
