The Butterfly Effect

A writing conceived during a paired imbibing of nicotine and caffeine, this text tries to account the discrepancy between current societal angst and past cultural homogeny.

There once was a time where if you wanted to be rebellious, you would be cynical. Anarchal. 

Chaotic, not due to malevolence or corruption, but the lack of order, The lack of sentiment, remorse, and structure.

In such times, laws and traditions, customs and blurred moral lines loomed over us, a shadow of Christianity's former glory, and terror, an apparition grasping at our souls.

Now, if you wish rebellion, defiance of the norm, you will be moral. Optimal.

Kind, not due to obedience of state, or the ironic dictates of religion, most of whom command you not kill, yet have led to a large scale culling of our species- but due to a wish. An idea that has spurred mankind on for centuries.

The concept of advancement. More than simply if I treat you well you may treat me well, we do this for the sake of enhancing the world whenever possible.

This is the beauty of the butterfly effect.

The idea that spreading good or bad through your actions, as they are witnessed by others, will manifest through some form in their own lives, thus creating a chain impression of moral goodness or badness upon their environments.

Man has always known this to be true. 

It didn't need to be given a name and a bad movie for us to recognize its importance.

Just as we didn't need love to have a name in order to feel it for one another.

Author's Note

The word anarchal, though not correct, is most apt in my opinion for the structure of the writing.
