The New Morn

The New Morn

A Poem by E B Kahn
"

Not particularly good, it's just something I felt the need to get down after an event I'd experienced.

"

Like a phoenix from the ashes
A brighter morn has dawned
Upon a fertile soil
Upon a generous land.
Where hands wave in friendship
And happiness abounds.

The armies of hate lay vanquished
And gone are the clouds of doubt.
The cavalry of companionship
Has triumphed over all.
And on a green hill’s pasture
We sit, and laugh, and rest.

I know not how it happened
Nor whether it shall end
Nor whether dusk shall come
And steel away my hope.
I only know that on this day
I am myself again.
