Those Damn Kids

Those Damn Kids

A Poem by Meagan Byington
"

Comparing childhood with adulthood. Don't try growing up too fast kids: Being an adult stinks worse that rotten eggs.

"

You get up when alarm sounds,

i get up whenever i wake.

boss pushing you around,

i eat breakfast birthday cake.

avoid the bitching, didnt finish those forms,

im in the backyard digging for worms,

Why would anyone want to grow up?

when you could sit on grass and play with little pups.(rofl that line sucked hardcore xp)

Those damn kids

wish to go back to childhood

but of coarse god forbids.

working hard to feed the family,

no sexual tension between boys and girls.

someone please change the baby!

look at my pretty plastic pearls.

drink away your pain till your depressed

mommy bought me a blue new dress.

car broke down, wallet lost in town.

theres sand in my shorts, wheres my train tracks?

all i get is bruises/scraps from the playground.

your in the hospital from heart attacks.

couldnt pay the bills.

forgot the glitter on my macaroni art.

cant keep cleaning all these spills

race and get a head start.

feather boa/ cowboy hat

weight watchers/ god your fat

barbie dolls/ mudd pie

tough divorce/ parents died

cheesy crackers/ cherry juice box

foreclosure/ whiskey on the rocks

ABC’s/ siblings unified

Over-dosage/ suicide

Tom and Jerry…. Hey, Wheres daddy?

Little kids enjoy childhood while you can,

cause before you know it your old and its close to The End.
