Between the Drift

Between the Drift

A Poem by Nowell Dulin
"

Couldn't think of a description lol 😂

"
I am heavy,
drained by the weight of the sky,
a dull ache in every breath,
too tired to move,
too tired to think,
too tired to care.

The world spins around me,
but I am still,
rooted in the soft,
endless embrace of exhaustion,
where thoughts blur
and the body feels like stone.

Time slides past,
but I can't reach for it.
Sleep is a distant place,
just out of grasp,
but even the effort to reach
seems too much to bear.

I linger in this space
not awake,
not asleep,
just somewhere in between,
floating on the tide of weariness,
waiting for nothing,
waiting for everything.
