One Day

The past few months have not been my best
In fact the last 2 weeks were worse then the rest
No one to turn to
No one to cry with
Just me all alone
Trying to sort things on my own

I'm slowly drifting away, losing sight of reality
What am I doing here? What has become of me?
I feel so lost
I feel so cold
How can I carry on?
I just want it all to stop
I wish I could be gone

I am waiting for the day
That the sun once again shines
And all of this sad dark misery
Will be long left behind

But until that day approaches
I will have to power on
Stand up straight
Keep smiling
Sing a happy song

Whatever it takes, I will do
Just to get to back to the light
Just to make it through

This poem is something I can really connect to right now. I have had the worst two weeks with one of my family members passing, and this piece really summed up how I have felt in a detailed and realistic way.
