My Nowhere

My Nowhere

A Poem by NANA

I want to create a nowhere
A void where I can be
surrounded by my nothingness
as far as the eye can't see.
I looked everywhere for my nowhere,
until I came to find
that nowhere can't be somewhere,
not even in the mind.
I want to create a nowhere
where I cannot be found.
A place where the earth could be the sky,
and the sky could be the ground.
There's nothing in a nowhere.
No cracks where you can hide.
For nowhere is an open space,
but you won't fit inside.
I'll find my nowhere someday,
wherever it is not.
Whether underneath the stairway,
or in a flowerpot.
And when I finally get there
and see what no one's seen,
You'll put your hands on your hips
and ask me where I've been.
And I'll look at you blankly,
then smile ear-to-ear,
because that day I'll get to say,
"Oh, I've been Nowhere".
