Like a PrayerA Poem by November GoldSome doors must close so that others may open...Like a prayer sent into space I wished for you. I may have seen you once or even twice But I wasn’t ready to receive you. With the touch of your hand I feel warmth With the sound of your voice I hear love. In your eyes I learn so much As your heart speaks volumes About the love you have to give And long to receive. For so long I have felt like I lived in a house of cards, Just waiting for the wind to come And bring it crashing down; You have come along and breathed A new breath into my lungs, You have inspired me to rise Up and try again at love. Together we face fear, hand in hand We move forward into the beauty Of what life has to offer us now, Even if its in baby steps that we go. I admire your ability to open up and love With so little restraint; I envy your impulse to give Without knowing if it will be returned. I long to be all of that, open And unrestrained in love; to allow Life and love to blossom in my soul Once more, and to be more powerful than All of the fears that haunt my scarred heart. Like a prayer you have come and whispered Hope into my soul. © 2012 November GoldAuthor's Note
