Gratitude

Gratitude

A Poem by November Gold
"

It's the simple things in life that we all too often lose sight of....

"

In gratitude we find contentment

In contentment we find peace

In peace we find serenity

In serenity we find comfort

In comfort we find rest.

Today I vow to be thankful for the little things,

the big things, and all things in between.

I can be thankful for sleeping alone

Because it doesn’t mean I am lonely

It means I have more room to stretch out!

I can be thankful for the silence in my house

Because it doesn’t mean there is no life here,

It simply means I can live it quietly on my own terms.

I can rejoice in my independence

Because I understand the dues I paid to reach this point.

I can be thankful for the paycheck I receive

Because I know there are those without.

I can be thankful for my compassion

Because I have witnessed first hand the misery of

One without it.

I can be thankful for being ME

Because there is no one else exactly like me,

So in God eyes I am always a unique and beautiful flower in the garden

Not exactly what I started out with in my mind, but once again I am racing a clock for some quiet moments to just write and purge, and then end up short of what I expected of myself.

Really optimist write. It is true that people should stop complaining about little things and instead be grateful that they HAVE the little things, compared to those who don't have a thing at all.. Although I often feel lonely, I always try to adopt that attitude that someday things will be okay and that everything happens for a reason .. A very inspiring write. Well done.

Your words are true in the poem. We must look for the good in a day and a person. I like the hopeful and positive feel of this poem. A very good ending to the excellent poem.

Interesting form that you have structured here. The second stanza has a lyrical quality about it. Very philosophical as well as you espouse your beliefs on the page. ME

I hate answering this question. It requires me to tell you who I am...the problem is that I am still learning about who I am everyday, and sometimes what I might tell you today, could change by this t.. more..
