Where were You

Where were You

A Poem by November Gold
"

The awareness of someone being nothing more than words; but never actually present

"

Where were you when I was lost?
Nowhere to be found.
Where were you when I felt alone?
Nowhere around.

Where were you when my heart ached?
Too busy to be bothered.
Where were you when I needed to talk?
You never talked, you hollered.

Where were you when I said not again?
Lost in your own ego.
Where were you when I said,"the end"?
Drowning in your own ego.

Consumed by your self absorption,
hearing only what you want
not caring about the truth;
Where were you when my heart opened up and I loved you?
On the other side of a burning bridge with no way back.

Try end line stanza 3 ~ drowning in your libido ~ so as not to repeat ego.
Love the way you ask and answer every question painting this image of one self consumed and unable to aid you, sometimes all we need is to be heard. Beautifully done, keep em' coming

Very emotional and relatable. No real flaws in the beginning, but rhyming ego with ego is very repetitive and the flow got a little disrupted in the last stanza. Still really good, though. Nice format. I liked the question, answer pattern that you established.

I hate answering this question. It requires me to tell you who I am...the problem is that I am still learning about who I am everyday, and sometimes what I might tell you today, could change by this t.. more..
