it's funny

it's funny

A Poem by Nothing Personal
"

lyrical

"
places and places
funny it may sound
it's still about people and spaces
funny towns in unknown lands
funny colors in people's faces
But I had to tell myself
tell myself
look into people's eyes

It's funny how we grow old
It's funny how we all die
I wish I could farm all life
store myself
store myself in ice
I wish still my face would live
my face would live
and my town survive.

Nuclear holocausts are on the way
melting global ice
causing ocean's swell
When there's too much water to drink
I will have soda
so would you.
Carbon will be thrown out in air
thrown out to the sun
Even if it rains again
we will throw it out.

It's funny that I still miss you
Time's gone by
springs are new,
Woman like to come and go
but the smile on your face
your curvy nose
It's funny how it still reminds me
still reminds me of you
I would still run along
run along those green, paddy fields
with you.
they have been waiting still
the cottage by the sea
the mountain to oversee

It's funny that I care for places
care for faces
care for life
It's funny that I still miss you
still yearn it
still wanna live
(not die)

ooo very nice - the ocean will indeed swell - not so funny - but things will happen - the irony in title and theme throughout - I love the line - "When there's too much water to drink" it just stood out for me! bravo! nice write!

Desperate hope and unending(unrequited) love masked within a smiling face...It's a sad poem, my friend, but a gem nonetheless...

I'm always skeptical about lyrical poems, mostly because majority of ones I've read do not have a very good, lyrical flow but this one did. It was light while still being heavy. Great write.

A reverie of poignant thoughts and wonderful sounds. Excellent last stanza with its tender words.

I like the logic of this poem. We must look above the bad things to hope on to hope and happiness.
"It's funny that I care for places
care for faces
care for life"
A very good ending to a excellent poem.

Definitely an enjoyable read. I think it brings up a great aspect of how we deal with our former loves, very understandable to the readers. I think this piece came out very good.
