long gone

long gone

A Poem by Nothing Personal
"

mud, despair and some loose earth

"
No I am dead
Long gone
Disappeared.

You can't even find a trace of me
if you dig up graves,
the earth has consumed me slowly
and I have let myself be consumed
into earth, mud and dust.

What was once land, is now water
What was once green, is withered dry
Smell of apocalypse does not haunt the places
Where I once lived and loved.
What was once my hands, is now food
for invisible living beings.

Continents wanted to move apart,
opening up vast oceans unseen
A huge thralling diversity of life
Even the mud and dust turns into oblivion.

Attract him, pull him, sink him in
deeper and deeper
darker and darker
Where consciousness dreads to open its eyes
Where words like emotions
are the distant hope of a ship coming to an island
where they are lost forever.

Close eyes
Say your prayers
Think
The small toys will come
and again play with you
as colored books will open up their unturned pages
A woman will come and hold you in her warmth
The first form of love, Mother;
When small bags will fill with books
and bespectacled ladies will teach again
When discoveries are to be made about a certain creature
called girls, different smell, texture and fabric;
Once again bicycles will pedal along winding roads
Winds will blow softly,
Rain will fall and will be known.

When I am dead and gone as I am now
I will sleep peacefully in a casket
and let the earth fill me in
and flood me with memories
of existence and despair;
I too lived someday.
Even though the air does not breathe me
The grasses are not trampled by my feet
and my life does not beat its resounding thump
anymore.

This was astounding, death is always captivating with its mystery and reality..very well done, this pulled me in and sucked me down into the frigid earth with you, leaving me breathless, coming up for air. Very good read, my friend
