Lost, not Confused

Lost, not Confused

A Poem by Nothing Personal
"

A poem written for a contest..

"
Birds sulk their way into their cobbled nests
The crimson sky says, “My job’s done”
Ancient ruins amongst me and I among dilapidated ancience
Lost in a sea without a shore
Within a forest where fire’s burnt it all
Answers which only you can provide
Because you slept under the blue sky
Wept in the gray rain
And played tic-tac toe with me
I’ll wait till the next morning
Wait for the next sun
The one
That will rise with you.

I guess I am confused, cause I didn't see what the others did. I am really confused by the word - ancience...... what does this mean or did you mean? Although I did like the lines " Because you slept under the blue sky
Wept in the gray rain
And played tic-tac toe with me"

It shows a playful side to your memories, and of happier times.

I'd go with Stacey. Whimsical, yes, Capricious. I find it hard to write on-the-spot with prompts. But if you can, then you ern my jealousy as well.

Keep writing.

I love how you came about this poem. It seems to ascend, with each line, into a deeper intimate pain. I, too, have experienced this feeling too much--especially recently. I can see the longing and despair in this poem as I sometimes can see in myself and the fact that you have mirrored these feelings impresses me greatly. Its almost as if you are trying to find your way back to a home that never existed, and yet you continue to persist and wait, not giving up. The imagery and possibilities for interpretation are vast. It is thought-provoking, inspiring and comforting in all its despair, because for those who can relate (and Im sure there are many), it shows them that they are not alone. It allows them to vent through anothers feelings. Well Done. :)

This verse is very romantic and whimsical! I like the idea of Lost, but not Confused,,,,because you're not confused. You know exactly want you want and your searching for what you feel is lost. To search means there is hope and longing. Wonderful write!

.
. brilliantly expressed, NP ... and your forays into brevity are yielding awesome results ... indeed the wait is important ... and that's why one is lost, but not confused ... the toughest part is not fighting it out ... for that is consuming ... but sitting it out ... because it's so vacant an activity ... yet ... that cycle of 24 hours redeems us ... as if time had wheels that turned at regular intervals ... to somehow ... surpass the irregularities that the same passage of time ignites ...
