A Discourse- Death, Existence and Forever Life

A Discourse- Death, Existence and Forever Life

A Poem by Nothing Personal
"

My take on Death and Living

"
Plan

So what if
I don't want to die?
Existence as we know of
Is utter, complete, so satisfied.
I have a solution
Bring your ears close by
Let me whisper.

Discourse - I

I love to live
I never want to die
People who believe in god
Can live their lives
On promised Heavens for which they strive
Or Hell if they utterly fail but still survive
I don't believe in God
I have no rationale
To believe in the Lord
And to top it all,
Science infected my brain
To make me think
Death, the complete darkness
Death, the supreme consciousness
Before the utter end
Death, the Non-existence.

Lines to read when I'm not there - I

"I write this poem
For you to read
To remember a soul
Which wanted to live
Always and forever
Enjoy the spring and breathe the air
Write, Eat and Make love
Learn, Drink and Inspire"

Discourse - II

The ruthless told me
There's nothing to live
For Death brings meaning
To the Life we live.
Without Death, Time will stop
There won't be anything and that will be all
I tell them with utmost grace
I still want to live at a snail's pace.

Lines to read when I'm not there - II

"Even if I'm not there
Even if I'm just a few lines
Some old memories
And a photo in a dilapidated frame
These lines will remain
And I will live through these lines
Read them to your sons and friends
And tell them - The Man who didn't want to die"

Execution

I know I am ninety
I am really ill
My time has come
I will be free
I have a plan
I conceived when I was a child
Please execute it
Before I die.

Find a patient
A life which still lives
But the brain has died.
Operate and take my brain
In its entirety and fill his crane.
As he will open his eyes
I will live again and I won't die.

He will think like me
He has all my memories
He will find a changed body
But a life so full
And the best part is
I will give his lifeless body
A whole new life
But it will be not be him
Who lives with my brain
It is me who will take the reign.
(Laughs silently with a forever expression)

Actually I think the title fits very well! What a profound write on the essence of life and death. A common saying on headstones in New England was (back 100-200 years ago) As you are now, so once was I; as I am now, one day you'll be. Morbid yes...but truth...we are all worms food. Great write!

This is incredibly original. I love it. I love the "Lines to read when I'm not there" parts the best. Maybe you can name it after one of the stanzas. Like the entire poem called Execution, or Lines To Read When I'm Not There, because both are pretty powerful.

I loved the last stanzas the best. I love the idea of desiring to be reincarnated by donating your brain.
I dont know if you found a title yet, but I liked...
'Mental Incarnation' because thats what I thought about as i read the 'Execution' stanza.
Awesome read here.

that was very different! my fav part was the "I still want to live at a snail's pace." :) the man who didn't want to die is crazy! not cause he wants to live but cause he wants to be born again in someone else s brain! It was very unique ! i liked it

Unusual poem. I think you have written the title in 'Lines to read when I'm not there - II'. "The Man who didn't want to die"

This grand b*****d can be read in the pieces you laid out or together as one whole piece.
This thing is probably what went through Poe's head before dumping his s**t into a gutter in baltimore.

I would like to think the other brian is the writing. WHere you get your kicks post the big ride to the sky.

We're all gonna be famous posthumously

This thing brims with defiance.

A very creative work...we live and we die, and we wish to live and die forever...even when we imagine we can create almost anything (almost) our only choice is to live fully as the memories and or thoughts written or examples of our living are what will be left...even the writings and created art of the past are the examples of how the living have passed through death and left us and yet live with us....well until we live no more and live forever...in the afterlife...

nice work...got me thinking...

We all want to live and not die, but if we believe in God, when we die we still live! Great poem!
