To be continuedA Poem by Nothing Personal1 At crossroads and salient islands, Where the normal laws of attraction does not work A faint shriek from somewhere close by Who’s that? A familiar face- Foreign syllables floating on pretty faces A fish definitely knows how long it can stay in water Or out of it Functionality of fins and gills; The possibility of infinity from the swimming pool Is vast and momentary.
The thriving poet was always a romantic first, Unanswered questions remain lyrical possibilities Between a mathematical yes and a no; Evolution is overrated and underachieving I still feel impermissible emotions Impermissible by only norms and standards (Not on weeknights after a bottle of malbec) Yet, within me, within deep chasms I see clearly And I am at least partially right.
Compositions on a Thursday night Your hair and your lips are enticing I create willfully I destroy magically Intoxicated words affect If only you had spoken then And chose not to be silent Oh, I’ve met so many versions of you And yet, I’ve met none of you.
That building where you lived last year That solemn whisper I had interpreted so many versions of you From that one incomplete conversation It felt we strived towards the same obsolescence After all
Dreary night, dark night Silent night, my night Even if there are no answers There are a bunch of constellations And a lot of hours Before it’s all over between you and me Before it’s all over Before it’s all over between me and The girl I haven’t met yet.
