Futile DreamsA Poem by NoteworthyA poem about the meaninglessness of existence
Twisted
Like overgrown foliage Wild with offence Beautiful by default Not measured to standards For good reason The shortfall becomes A new kind of normal A beast filled with weather Hateful and benevolent If ever the wind blows Ever so different Disney eats it's heart out For the rapunzel Holding a noose Made from her own dignity For the sleeping beauty Her insomnia curtailed As she finally breathes deep The bottle rolling from her fingers The Pocahontas shops At Walmart in crocs The little mermaid Is a piscetarian Cinderella sits high On cash jobs to immigrants And the beauty Lives in the beast as one Angels are laughing As existence weeps The dead are more alive While the living die Time is a commodity Health is the greatest gamble The good die young While the young die on The old judge us With clouded eyes Forgetting themselves Their walking corpses They died long ago Just like we are now When their dreams choked them With their failure Dream sweet if you can Poison will soon dissolve And you too will feel Twisted and ugly © 2024 NoteworthyFeatured Review
