Words

Words seem solemn,

They seem lonely,

They seem weak,

They seem sad.

Words seem easy-going,

They seem friendly,

They seem strong,

They seem happy.

Perhaps they seem biased,

Paradoxical, contradictory, or even bizarre,

Maybe angry, harsh, or lost,

Or busy, useless, unsatisfied.

Words are only words,

Until we speak them,

Giving meaning through our voice,

Audible, or otherwise.
