All the Things I Should Have Said

All the Things I Should Have Said

A Poem by NotchHero

Of all the things I should have said,
I guess I should have said one more.
Of all the things I should have said,
I should have said one less.

I love you,
I hate this,
I wish we didn't fight.

You're intelligent,
Way more than me.

Strike me down,
With all of your angelic light.

I should have told you,
Not merely that you came from Heaven,
But also that I saw the origins of the things you said,
Showed that you came from Hell,
That I saw that those things were thrown upon you,
By the demons that stalk the dark,
Meant to drag you down.

I should have told you,
That I saw you rise past your demons,
That you need not be afraid,
Even if they try to scare you,
They hold no power over you.

I should have told you,
All of the things I ever thought,
I should have confided in you more,
I should have, I should have, I didn't.

I wish I had, but I didn't and now you are poised to leave.
I hope I haven't burned my last chance,
But I know I probably have.
