The Moon's Home

The Moon's Home

A Poem by NotchHero

The Moon is bright tonight,
She shows me the way,
She leads my steps through their familiar route,
All the way home.

The Moon is dim tonight,
She hides those who follow me,
She gives me only a small warning,
As my steps follow the path back home.

The Moon doesn't shine tonight,
She lets me hide from the pain,
She gives me the relief of the dark,
As I stay away from home.

The Moon rises early tonight,
She watches me go,
She holds me as I go,
All the way home.

The Moon rises late tonight,
She searches for me,
She hopes I am waiting for her,
As I follow the way back home.

The Moon shines tonight,
She covers the world,
She lights my way,
While I ask you to come home.

I love the moon phases and the different aspects of it changing the emotional view; to reach the safety of home. Nice connection throughout. I also appreciated the twist at the end "While I ask you to come home". Lovely writing.
