CompassionA Story by NotchHeroThis was written November 19, for a class, but I found it again and wanted to put it out there..
I don’t remember the attacks on 9/11. I don’t remember the planes flying into the Twin towers, I don’t remember the destruction of most of the World Trade Center, I don’t remember the plane flying into the Pentagon, and I don’t remember the plane that was supposed to fly to the White House, but crashed in a field. Yet, I remember the damage, I remember seeing the footage, and I certainly remember the effects; I live with them everyday. Now, France has experienced their version of 9/11. Not trying to say that the six coordinated attacks in Paris was exactly the same, but the event is certainly having and will continue to have the same magnitude of effects. With 129 dead, 352 injured and 99 in critical condition currently, the French police are certainly on the hunt for the branch of ISIL (ISIS) responsible. I personally feel connected to the people of France right now, not only because of the similarities to September 11, 2001, but because the attacks were virtually unprovoked.
