How to Destroy the World

How to Destroy the World

A Story by NotchHero

Every evil genius has one dream: To destroy the world. But one thing has prevented this goal from becoming reality insofar; compassion. This simple word has stopped generations of evil geniuses from destroying the world, simply because humans want to be compassionate and help each other, which means that they will survive past your schemes. So how do we accomplish our common goal?

First, you need to figure out how to isolate the human race while making them believe they are far more connected than ever. Make them depend upon this illusion, and the best way to do this? Launch a new game system, social media complex or cellular device -- preferably an expensive one -- to occupy their time. It will feed their feeling of being connected while severing their connection with their immediate surroundings.

Next, spend the next twenty years releasing new technological products, both to maintain interest, and to allow time for the generation of technology addicts to grow up and pass the habit to their kids, while ignoring the warnings of their dying parents. This will allow you to further isolate the new generations, as their parents have already succumbed to the technology virus.

Third, create something everyone will hate, like an Islamic Caliphate. Such actions will be enough of a distraction to keep people from realizing that their technology is preventing compassion from occurring, which is caused by the lack of interaction with the world other than through the technology. This lack of compassion should prevent any major forms of aid against the chosen form of distraction.

Finally, start a world nuclear war by giving two states that hate each other, like Israel and Iran, not only access to nuclear weapons, but access to allies with nuclear capabilities and the willingness to defend either Israel or Iran. All that remains is to just sit back and watch the world tear itself apart.
