Hindsight

Hindsight

A Poem by NotSoAnonymous

I look back to the days of yonder
and i begin to ponder..
wishing i could travel back to the times of wonder
when everything still seemed new
My needs and worries were few

Neseseties were provided
i was pushed along and guided
small minded
until i decided to stay quiet

What a riot
a deep thinker
my words no longer linger
stale in the air
frail as a pear
Fucked for not getting there

Where is their?
Where is where?
Topped off at my leisure
cave in to peer pressure
not sure whether
im free or tied to a tether

What should guide me now?
Adopted habits
Dangnabit sober like an abbot
Well wont you say:

I should
learn to moderate
fail to conglomerate
sadly there is no one i can nominate
to lead my philosophies
end in catastrophes
What will be written in my biography?

Sad ending of someone who never was?
Or a man who fought for a just cause?
Painted the Sistine Chapel
Or rot away like an apple

What are we living for? Do I have a purpose? What's the point? These are questions we ask. But in the end, if we choose to be buried, we may just rot away like an apple. Still, I believe you should show purpose, to what you want to do because we've been put on this word for a reason: to make a difference. So, yes, you may rot away, but rot away with dignity.

Good poem. Looking forward to whatever else you have.

About
Well i grew up in the Appalachian mountains raised by a pack of lone hungry wolves. They fed me and brought me up as one of their own. One day i ventured to far from the pack and was taken by a group .. more..
