AliceA Poem by Ethan RichardsA Lewis Carroll inspired bit of prose.
Some say I'm crazy; mad as a hatter.
I feel down this hole and can't find a ladder. Tangled up with Alice, but I couldn't have her. It is no matter; it's the rabbit I'm after. I'm lingering in a fantasy like a sly cat smile. Wounded in a daydream with a world to inspire. I've tried it all with Alice; a caterpillars pyre. It is no matter; I don't want an empire. This trail I walk illusions, a mock reality. Fifty-one and marching, marching haphazardly. I've tried it all with Alice, but she don't trust the queen. It is no matter; I'm on to the next scene. Jabberwocky, Jabberwocky. Do you exist? I've never read about you. Are you a twist? I hear you're after Alice; Do you think she's a pest? It is no matter; I'm on to the next. Some say I'm crazy. Mad is my state. I feel down this hole and created my fate. Tangled up with Alice, but we couldn't relate. I got a date with the rabbit and I'm already late.
