A fairytale night outA Poem by northern monkeyCollaboration with Poetic Justice, whose original idea was a fairytale night out..with a hint of modern day living..Your chariot awaits, the engine is running Late for the ball, although you look stunning
All men are merry, the streets are amass All eyes upon you, and your shoes made of glass
The music is playing, your entrance is made All the fair maidens, you’ve put in the shade
Minstrels strike up your tune, youre walking on air alluring all knights, come, dance if you dare
C'mon noble sires, get you backs off the wall Does medieval etiquette block out the siren's call?
Ladies are laughing, as jesters amuse Gentlemen dueling, because of cheap booze
Midnight is nearing, it's time to depart Call for a cab, before you fall apart
Peasants and wenches flow out of the hall Singing and clinging, their lovers enthral Shouting and pouting, and mailing by phone Lecherous images few would condone But you've done all right, or so it seems Pulling a jouster, the man of your dreams Sadly turns out all talk and no trousers Stumbling home past mud 'n' straw houses What's a damsel to do in such challenging times? Come here my lovely, we'll express it in rhymes © 2011 northern monkeyAuthor's Note
