Owl Pendant

Owl Pendant

A Poem by Norma Bruce

Cold green eyes peering out from my chest
Looking upon the rain soaked world
Beaded drips running down her embellished feathers
crusted with dark aged marks.

Steely blank gaze looking over my path
claws clutching nothing beak tight shut
holding my secret deep inside her chest
listening to all and saying nothing.

little coco owl sitting on my breast
hearing my lies and my stories
little coco owl sitting in my half made nest
stay quite and golden in this rainy world.
