The Man I Love

This is a poem I wrote for the man I love...

When I first got to know you,
I didn’t expect that it would end up being us two.
My assumptions about you were wrong,
so with time my feelings for you became strong.
Joy and happiness is what you bring,
one day you will be the man to put on the ring.
My love for you is indescribable,
with no one else I have never felt so desirable.
I know it hasn’t been so long,
but despite that we do belong.
During the nights I feel insane,
the way my heart aches for you is pain.
Knowing that you are not here,
makes me wanna disappear.
Disappear from reality,
to be in my dreamworld of liberality.
In a world where I’m free,
and can fully be me.
The way you love and care,
is very rare.
A man like you is one of a kind,
a man precious like you is hard to find.
You are my comfort zone,
with you I don’t feel alone.
I feel beloved and secure,
which no else has proven to ensure.
As soon as I open my eyes,
a part of me dies.
Realizing that we are far apart,
but at least you are always within my heart.
