Coffee tears

Coffee tears

A Poem by Nona

Cappuccino foam in Montreal puddles

In my cup of hopes is just rain

Rain

Gleam of fishy smile in your eyes… and splashes

of jazzy-joy sounds struggling my pain

Pain

Just a friend chat, drama-free, Polaroid-type reality

Banal coffee talk, no complaints

Rain

But why is my bare soul in the network of humanity

Lost and found in your hands?

Pain

Good coffee and sadness. At least you are not alone. I like the tale in the poem.
'Just a friend chat, drama-free, Polaroid-type reality

Ending made the poem complete. Rain allow the sadness to become one with life. Thank you for the excellent poem.

Love the repetition, it's like a stick you poke at the reader with. Good stuff.

Sometimes when we pretend through rituals like sharing a coffee that all is well,..sometimes it becomes so. Briefly. Too briefly

Ok, so this is the second poem from you that I have read and I have to say that I am impressed by your ability to fit profound ideas into your work. Now I thought this poem was going to simply be about drinking coffee. Maybe it would be one of those pieces one could read while drinking coffee. But then you have lines like: "But why is my bare soul in the network of humanity/Lost and found in your hands?" Those lines touch the true question of existing and connecting with those we love. I really liked that!

You are my lost and found of coffee tears, you gave me a Ph.D in poetry. The L.A. Sun does not compare to Montreal rain, can it possibly?

thats how it is when someone possesses the right beans.. i prefer sumatra dark myself..

remember even in the worst coffee, the cream always rises to the top..

sometimes we just have to make a pretty swirl in it, and enjoy the rain for the rain..

this was great

Very nice Nona, missed reading your clever poems...
As all can be faded away, in life... you use the metaphor wise.

Loved the patterned Rain/Pain that seems like an exclamation point the way you used them. Very brilliant!
