Champ de Mars love

Champ de Mars love

A Poem by Nona

We could not believe we found each other

In the giant city of love and desire

Among thousand faces, streets, and windows

In smoke of coffee and smell of cigarettes

We did not expect our eyes to undress us

In shameless passion of erected souls

In front of tourists, pigeons, and tower

Spilling the clouds in a summer shower

We could not imagine how deep we cared

To keep the freshness of our kisses,

Champagne flavored with cheese and… stars

On the bare belly of the Champ de Mars grass

Wonderful write Nona. In know your write is about Paris, have you spent any time there. Never been to France. I love Quebec and would love to go back some day. The french cities of Canada have the romantic atmosphere for France. I love your style.

Beautiful poem. Loved the surreal imagery and the passion.
I would have left out the last word of the last line or perhaps wrote it "On the grassy belly of the Champ de Mars" Just because you say the belly is bare and then you have the grass. It makes me want to challenge you.

Still it is a beautiful poem and I love the imagery of the pictures it paints in my head.
