Champ de Mars love

Champ de Mars love

A Poem by Nona

We could not believe we found each other

In the giant city of love and desire

Among thousand faces, streets, and windows

In smoke of coffee and smell of cigarettes

We did not expect our eyes to undress us

In shameless passion of erected souls

In front of tourists, pigeons, and tower

Spilling the clouds in a summer shower

We could not imagine how deep we cared

To keep the freshness of our kisses,

Champagne flavored with cheese and… stars

On the bare belly of the Champ de Mars grass

Wonderful write Nona. In know your write is about Paris, have you spent any time there. Never been to France. I love Quebec and would love to go back some day. The french cities of Canada have the romantic atmosphere for France. I love your style.

Lovely flow , the city of love , with tourists underfoot finding each other . When you in love the city hardly matters?

This is well written, emotional and logical. It speaks of romance and such. The third line could be changed slightly from 'thousand faces' to 'a thousand faces'. I like how the first line of each paragraph speaks of unexpected surprise. Good job.

such a lovely image, reclining beneath this experience and soaking it in. such a lovely idea. be careful of sticking to the "we did, we did, we did" format, creates a awkwardness to your words that needn't be there.

The poem is beautiful. The language, the story and the place you took me with your words. Thank you for the amazing poetry.

Truly made me smile...absolutely fresh approach to the divinity of new love and special expectations...

As you seem to do each time, this poem has a touch of sweetness and sincerity...
