Pens and words

Pens and words

A Poem by Nomo

Take a pen

1,000 hours and a mile of ink

Gives birth to sketches and words

Anything that I think

The clever and absurd

What is this pen

Imagination? Contemplation?

Whiskey dreams,

Flagrancy seems to be contemplation

A variation of Creation?

A reduction of protraction?

Of wise thoughts and lunacy

I write the words for all to see

And flex my various tendencies

Mostly to flee from reality

And pay the fee for insanity

I write

I draw

I scribble

And nibble at the truth

From youth to age

I stare at this page

With a pen in my hand

I can't stand or find land

Beneath my feet

But my pen will meet this paper

And repeat the thoughts that echo through my head

Apologies for taking so long to review you. Every time I tried, the site glitches and logged me out.
But on the plus side, while waiting to reply, I read this a few times and got distracted into writing something, so I guess it's a review, seen from a slightly different angle...

Writing.

Life is not a poem
summed up in a few verses.
No need for counting syllables
but you still read 'tween the lines.
Like you have found my purpose
and know more than a guess.
Or is this mere distraction
to through you off the scent...

... write the vreally clever penguin.

I used to draw pictures with my words in the lines in the contours of my creation big long convoluted letters making sentences out of form it was always funny to see what the form became from the scribbled words I had a friend that was a painter and I would watch him from far behind paint these images that he could not see because he was to close to the canvas and I would stand and wonder how he did this and then it dawned on me that it was just like writing a poem how the next line related to the next stanza to create an image thats what this poem made me think of

Hello dear Nomo. I do understand the poem.
"But my pen will meet this paper
And repeat the thoughts that echo through my head"
In my lifetime. I had to write and to read. The above lines. Pen to paper. A release for me. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

Writing and drawing, incredibly unique and beautiful ways to inspire others and also escape from reality. I really liked the concept here.
Great collab!
