De'mer

De'mer

A Poem by Nomo

The setting sun

And my lover waits below a stark craig

Just minutes to dark

Crepuscular bliss

She awaits with a soft kiss

As the stars begin to wink

With a waxing gibbous moon

Lighting my path

so I can see along the cliff

The salted breeze

Brings her scent to my face

Calmly I pace on the sea ledge

Anxious to see my lover

The year before she took my brother

And today I give myself to her

Her gentle call is alluring

Sirens from the deep sing my name

While the spirits of land only whisper

Black waves break on the rocks below

Are her hands beckoning me to go

And to come into her grasp

At least I will know peace

And I'll cease to be aware

With my lover de'mer

Another collab between Ts and I. Most of the credit goes to Ts for which he took a seed of happiness and turned it into a beautiful darkness. I loved working on this with you Ts lol.

Your poem opens with a seemingly happy and welcoming scenario. You are at the beach and you see your lover there waiting for you. As the poem goes on, I see your lover has never left. She doesn't go anywhere. She's been there the entire time. La mer, or De'mer, is a place where many people go to find solitude and comfort. Some people go there to escape their problems for a moment. Others seek it to escape permanently, as your brother did. Your lover took your brother and you do not harbor any ill-will toward her. In fact, you hope to find the same comfort in solitude your brother sought from her last year. What are you hoping for? Do you wish to be one with your lover? Are you hoping to be reunited with your brother? Are you hoping for both?
Your story touches on a lot of elements that are used in romantic, happy settings. Two people are lone; enamored with each other. Is it the case here? Is De'Mer as happy to see you as you are to see her? Is this love returned? Or do people like you and your brother come to see her and she is indifferent to your presence. Does she accept you willingly or does she not care who it is offering themselves to her.
It's an interesting story, Nomo. De'Mer took your brother and yet you consider her your lover. You do not resent her. In fact, you continue to go back to her. Finally, you want to see what it is she has. Did she take something from you or did she give something to your brother? Or both? Do you want to see what it is your brother gained by becoming one with your lover? You are about to be one with her. How are you feeling? Happy? Anxious? Excited? Desperate? It's night time. Another setting that evokes feelings of romance and love. Two lovers alone at night under a waxing gibbous moon. A perfect setting for two lovers to meet, become one, find bliss within each other. Reading this poem, you are not looking for bliss. You are not looking for solitude. You have enough of that. De'Mer took your brother from you, adding you your solitude. There is no happiness here. Only escape. The hope of happiness on the other side of your lover. A chance to be reunited with your brother. There is your happiness. There is the love. Your lover will serve as a way back to your brother. You will see him, help each other and find your happiness. The moon lights your path. The air smells salty, and yet, sweet. The moon lights your path. The light at the end of the tunnel. The end to your suffering. One with your lover. Happiness.

My senses truly awakened by this piece. I don't know who you collaborated with. Fine imagery and I enjoyed my sea visit.
