Just a Doll

Just a Doll

A Poem by Nomo

A velveteen doll propped on a shelf

I have no thoughts or feelings for myself

Something just not somebody

Just some body

Something to be used over and over

I don't deserve the title

"Girl"

These tears roll down my face

They threatened to wrinkle the lace

Of the dress I wear for him

To try to look prim

A smile was sewn on my face to hide the chagrin

It’s getting harder to hold my stuffing in

I get used  and set aside

But my eyes stay wide

And loving

I know he loves me

As a thing

But that's good enough

Yet he can be rough

And tear at my seams

Sometimes he screams

But I know I deserve it

Whatever he sees fit

Just a doll in the world

Of real people

Ts and I did a collab on this, I don't know if Nix did but I believe most of the praise should go to Ts because all I did really was give the seed of the poem and he created the flower.

Powerful emotions and thoughts shared. You allowed the reader to feel the anger dear Nomo. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

Can't wait to see your fuckers burn down the ground.
The speaker in this one is exceptionally needy and lacking in self esteem. Depression may figure into the mix, too. There is apparently an abusive partner in the picture, one who may be both verbally and physically cruel. The speaker is having trouble holding the inner stuffing in, which may mean a breaking point is near. When it comes, I think someone is going to get hurt.

I really enjoyed the rhyming in this and the flow. The message of settling is a sad one, yet you played it off here very nicely. Collab or not, very nice piece.

We have animal dolls in the camper van
We found a slightly miss shapen Marmot in the raggy doll box in a craft shop on a high Alpine road summit

The dolls are sad now because they miss the trips out

Summer soon and lockdown lifed > Best wake them all up

Very good a nice read about how women who just don't wanna be alone settle on being treated bad and not like the queens they are.

I gave you 20 lines about a peacock with his head stuck in a vase and you came up with this? It's good but I think you went a little far with the editorial license here.
