Jester

Jester

A Poem by Nomi

You’re savvy when it comes to your life
Crooked eyed teeth clenching tight
A jester of all jesters
Displays of passionless practice aged and full of effort
What taunting tasteless tangible torture
Arms held open a surprising gesture
Wild and frantic and none the wiser for it
You smile even though misery is all you feel
A distinguished doormat
Surrounded by idiocracy substance is the savior
The road commonly traveled is where your steps are made
Craving acceptance yet neglecting your needs
Soul silenced and twisted into a tangled mess of hypocrisy
You’re wading in the wasteland
You’ll never find your way out

You have a unique voice. This one I especially enjoyed, to be complacent, to give joy - when he is the definition of conflict, the utter sorrow of a clown in debt to kings and others tossing tomatoes... I would love to read some personal pieces, the ones without symbolic jesters as characters to replace real ones from your life... thank you for sharing this.
