![]() The wondererA Poem by d.o.t![]() first and only try at a non-rhyming poem![]() The wonderer I had been walking for hours The night sky was as dull as the day’s events I woke up in a mess I had no intention of cleaning For I had no intentions I followed a loose routine: breakfast, shower, TV Not in the exact order but all three where accomplished every morning I left the house for a packet of cigarettes only to return once more Lunch, Facebook, Xbox most actions where done in three's I had to walk the dogs leaving my safe haven once again I lost track of time but time wasn’t important any more Returning to my home I noticed the sun was setting Where had the day gone I sat at my computer to add a few final words to a poem I was currently writing 3 lines The time escaped me once more The sky was black Frustration I left the house eager to fulfil the need for something different The night sky was as dull as the day’s event No clouds only smog No stars only smog The new moon shined vacantly Street lights lit my path The remnants of the rain softened the ground Time had become unimportant I walked and I walked I walked some more With no destination I felt free The journey had no meaning The journey had no end I stopped, looked back and saw how far I had gone The further from home was the more at home I felt I continued my journey Looking at the sky I could tell I was blind to the truth My feet were aching Yet I continued My legs were stiff Yet I continued With a clear mind I could see the world I thought about my actions I thought about my past I though about the unimportant time I ran I jogged I stopped I caught my breath What was I running from? Or was I running to it? i looked up at the sky the smog had cleared The moon was still vacant But the stars lit the void in its stead With this view in mind I returned home I rested my head I awoke the day’s events would be as meaning full as the nights clear sky d.o.t © 2015 d.o.t |
