A long silent street.

A long silent street.

A Poem by ZeeDeeVille

I walk in blackness and I stumble and fall stepping on silent stones and dry leaves.

Someone behind me is also stepping on stones.

Tonight I can write the saddest lines.

Softly in the dusk, someone is singing to me.

I love you because in my thousand and one nights of dreams I never once dream of you.

How could one not love his great still eyes?

Love can not fill thickened lung with breath nor clean the blood nor set the fractured bone; yet many a man is making friends with death even as I speak, for lack of love alone.

I no longer love him but how I love him……………..

This is a deeply moving, strong yet enigmatic work; it is well done! In only a few words, you give voice to the many conflicting emotions and sentiments which collide when the heart and the mind ponder the subject of love. I enjoyed it.
