The figureA Poem by NoemergencyexitThe figure is another one of our darker verses
The figure
You awake in the night You reach for a drink and look around the room To your shock is someone at the end of your bed “Are you sleeping well?” The figure asked You feel a cold touch on your foot The figure has hold of your foot You’re unsure of what to do You’re unable to scream because of fright The figure gets up and turns on your alarm clock It sits back down on your bed To the figure asks you what is your real fear You think your dreaming But if you were asleep you would have awoken by now Trust me on that This figure opens your cupboard door It says “monster don’t hide in cupboards” You look for your mobile “Monsters don’t hide under the bed” The figure says You ask “where do they hide?” The figure replies “Always in the same place…. In side of us” You blink and the figure has gone You now can’t sleep Well this wasn’t a bed time story This was the truth The figure was….
