Tears of the AngelsA Poem by NoelDressaryIt's been raining a lot lately.....
Here it comes
Down from the heavens again Those little droplets The tears of the angels Why are they crying? The relentless pattern Of the tiny water drops As they endlessly pelt the dry earth Soaking it with their mercy The mud sloshes beneath my feet As I stand there staring into the sky The cold droplets met my cheek And slide down it gently Consuming the warmth That once sat proudly pleased Like a king on his throne The tears fall from the skies Soaking into my luscious hair Rolling down my back and neck Pulled ever downward Under gravity's command The cold seeps in and eats away at the warmth That so jealously guards me As I stare into the eyes of sorrow The lament of the skies I let the tears of my own despair This consuming torment This pain unhealing Stream its warm liquid Down my skin And drip off my chin Joining the millions of drops That continue to collect At my numbing feet I listen closely And hear the pounding around me The beating hearts of lost friends Harkening me to not forget them With every rain drop I feel their pain © 2015 NoelDressaryFeatured Review
