Always

Always

A Poem by Nobody at all
"

A relative of mine recently passed and I decided to write a poem to help me cope

"

I hear your laughter

In the bird songs you often whistled along with

I see your smile

In all the flowers that decorated your home

I hear your voice

In the church hymns you delighted in singing at mass

I remember your silliness

In the clouds you could always find a fun shape in

I see your kindness

In all the people whose lives you have touched so deeply

Despite you having to leave this world

Your spirit shines through

In every place and thing you cherished

And in all the people you loved and will always love

Says everything an elegy should say. The person is gone, but they live on in the ways they touched the lives of others.
