StarsA Poem by Rosette JewelI think it's somewhat obvious. These windows do not leak as they used to, But the breeze is still cold, These clouds hide the moon well, But all I see are stars. Remembering the day, Onyx skies stared into my soul, They hid the world well, And all I saw were stars. Evenings, I escape the past, With sandy grains, rubble, Of distractions, relaxing, And a little bit of trouble, Contractions, reactions, Avoided with avoidance, Fill the void, the landfill, With my own bones, my vacancy. Vacant rooms, I stay exposed, Wearing nothing but my ache, you see. And you don’t see, I wish the stars were there in me. © 2010 Rosette Jewel |
