Stars

Stars

A Poem by Rosette Jewel
"

I think it's somewhat obvious.

"

These windows do not leak as they used to,

But the breeze is still cold,

These clouds hide the moon well,

But all I see are stars.

Remembering the day,

Onyx skies stared into my soul,

They hid the world well,

And all I saw were stars.

Evenings, I escape the past,

With sandy grains, rubble,

Of distractions, relaxing,

And a little bit of trouble,

Contractions, reactions,

Avoided with avoidance,

Fill the void, the landfill,

With my own bones, my vacancy.

Vacant rooms,

I stay exposed,

Wearing nothing but my ache, you see.

And you don’t see,

I wish the stars were there in me.

The memories we carry-- beautiful and far off. We see them clearly-- always.
Atmospheric write-- filled with raw emotions.
