Dreams Speak Louder Than WordsA Poem by Rosette JewelWrote this about 4 months ago. It was based off some confusion I was having with friends and family as well as some dreams that reflected those emotions including one where I killed my father.
I didn’t know you could bleed until I hurt you,
But by that point, mercy is not a virtue, Chased down with medicated knives, Violent elders spare no lives, I’m exhausted, in a panic, Yet I watch you just sit there, Staring down into hell, yeah, you don’t care, I’m searching for answers to my stupid questions, You’re simply searching for relaxation, I didn’t know you could bleed until I hurt you, But by that point, mercy is not a virtue, I didn’t mean to take your soul, but, Your anger took all of my whole heart, And if you didn’t know it then, I’ll say it now, I am selfish and my fuel’s run out, Dodging authority to hide your hide, Perfect actress, right on cue cries, “Believe me!”, I say and it does, Mild punishment for the spill of your blood, I didn’t know you could bleed until I hurt you, But by that point, mercy is not a virtue, I’ll never be who they want me to be, Be it Desiree or Mary Jane and Lucy, Family I don’t need, nor am I wanted by friends, I’ll keep my love for the stage, my love for paper and pen, People lie and die, honest art never ends. © 2010 Rosette Jewel |
