Five Seconds
that’s all we get
how can i in just five seconds tell a story of 17 years of pain?
how can i in just five seconds spew the s**t that’s in my brain?
my five seconds weren’t of fame
my five seconds came on january 14th 2024 at 11:58 pm
in my bed with a bottle of pills with a choice to go or stay
i chose to go and my five seconds almost never came
then i remembered her face, my mother, and how she smiled at me that very same day
and i realized that in just five seconds i can rip her entire life away
in just five seconds i could be the one to take her son away
so i had a choice to make, to pick up the phone, and call for help
or let my final five seconds fade away
in just five seconds everything could change
in just five seconds we could choose to go or stay
because five seconds is all we get
