How to ensure you will never be happy

How to ensure you will never be happy

A Poem by Nobody

How to ensure that you will never be happy
Step one: don’t listen to that little voice inside
Every time it tries to talk drive it out with quick highs and distractions
Never learn how to speak
Step two: live on a landslide
If they keep repeating the cycle
Fall with them
Find comfort in the instability
Find warmth within the mud
Step three: remember that art is useless
This poem cannot speak
So why listen to what it has to say?
That song cannot hug you
So why find comfort in it?
That painting cannot contribute to your 401k
So why paint it?
Step four: stay busy until your brain becomes dizzy
If you rest the wasps in your brain will start to sting
Keep turning the pages
Step five: be afraid of love
What if they leave and i have to live with myself?
What if it keeps getting worse?
What if the door was never meant to be opened?
I cannot love myself
So why would they?
If you follow these steps you can ensure that you will never be happy

Your poem powerfully explores how people can avoid happiness. The steps are clear and impactful, and the imagery, like "wasps in your brain," really captures the struggle. It’s a thought-provoking piece
