Nostalgia

Nostalgia

A Poem by Nobel
"

Make what you will.

"

I see through a windowpane glass and remember its sweet view

What wonders I see through it

My past is visible

I reach out trying to embrace

But always fail

I sigh, and look at the glass

With its stripes

As I trace them I see a vision entrance me

My pupils dilate

I see a little girl walking up the lane

She waves at her mother

And disappears

The present becomes the past

I see it flying by

Nothing stops me from seeing

As it whizzes through the night

What wonders I see through the telescope

And find much dark desires

What wonders I see among the flying stars

And find night dead tonight

The past and the present intermix

Creating cosmos in the air

What wonders there are

Yet too far to reach

I find myself in despair

A Cloud of darkness encompasses me

I see nothing for an instant

Then the light from the glass shines on me

I rue the day I ever saw

For such a longing overcomes me
